First Day in Pondicherry

1 December, 2006

Mark and I slipped back into life in Pondicherry as though we were just here yesterday:

Breakfast at our usual table in the Family section of the Indian Coffee House: an order of Bombay toast (sort of like French toast), two sada (plain) dosaswith coconut and tomato chutneys and sambar, one coffee and two lemon waters – Rs. 58 ($1.32),

Catching up with our friends at Shuddham before going together to celebrate Puru Kothari’s birthday in Maya’s room,

Riding to Auroville to visit our friends Hemant and Divya and their 10-day old baby girl, Sanaa; had dinner with them and Divya’s mother,
Stocking up on peanut butter and jams produced in Auroville at Farm Fresh,

Counting the dogs on a stretch of road we call the Dogpatch on our way out of Auroville.
